LEVIN INSTRUMENT SERIAL NUMBERS
This is a list of Levin instruments serial numbers 1900--1977. The list has been copied by Mattias Hallin from a 1978 list supplied by Levin to dealers etc. A copy of the original list was provided by Benny Trapp. Levin instruments (guitars ,spanish, flattop, acoustic archtop, electric archtop, string basses, mandolins, drums and tenor banjos and possibly others as well). They are probably best known outside Sweden for their superb export line of "Goya" classical guitars
Anders Wasén of Gothenburg Sweden (where Levin/Goya was made) sends this information:
Some info for you . H.C. Levin was from Sweden and as I was told worked in the US as a trainee at Martin. And so did his son just before WW1( As he told me himself). HC went back to Sweden and formed the Levin Guitar company ( Goya in the US ). But they also built quite a lot of banjos too in the 20s and the 30s.
Goya was purchased by the Martin company in the late 1970's.
